Seth Nehil

Seth Nehil makes original sound and theater work for concert, performance and installation. His work utilizes multi-speaker recorded sound, video screens and live performers, creating a dynamic interplay of cinema, sound effects, texts and songs.

He has created music for choreographers and theater companies, including Hand2Mouth Theater, Linda Austin Dance and Linda K. Johnson Dance in Portland, OR and Liz Gerring Dance in NYC. Across 14 solo and collaborative albums over the last 13 years, Seth Nehil has crafted a strange and dramatic sound world, mixing metallic bells, gongs and crashes with vocal fragments, electronic buzzing and noisy waves. He has composed and performed extensively with John Grzinich, Olivia Block, Matt Marble, and Brendan Murray.

Seth Nehil currently teaches sound and video at The Pacific Northwest College of Art, and Washington State University Vancouver.
